out in the world again
Today I put the shoes on display at the Glendale Central Library with my sister's invaluable assistance. They will be there through December. Looks great.
For personal reasons shoemaking is very much on the back burner. Priorities are rightfully elsewhere. But ideas are still swirling so I don't believe I am quite finished with this project.

new lasts
These small lasts are the first I have made in pairs. The smallest are 3/4" long (1:12 scale) and the middle are 2 1/2". They make my 4" last look enormous! The middle size are not quite finished and I am not sure what, if anything, I will make with either of these new pairs. I just had an urge to make them. Carving lasts is a chore so it's good to take advantage of a moment of willingness.

a temporary (?) break in transmission
Since exhibiting in December and January - which was gratifying - I have been trying to come up with the next shoe and nothing wants to coalesce. (inspiration can be stubborn!)
Time to put this work aside for now and take a deep breath.
